Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Christopher Coleman invites community members to share ideas for the Town of North Attleborough’s Hazard Mitigation Plan during an upcoming joint hybrid meeting of the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee.
WHEN:
Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m.
WHERE:
Community members can attend the meeting in person at the JoAnn Cathcart Conference Room, located in the lower level of 43 South Washington St., or virtually. To access the meeting virtually, click here.
WHAT:
The Town of North Attleborough recently formed a Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee to update its existing Hazard Mitigation Plan. The town is collaborating with a consultant approved by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency to identify risks of natural hazards and develop projects that will mitigate those risks.
Community members are encouraged to attend this joint meeting and share their thoughts and ideas on reducing the risks of natural hazards and climate change.
Once completed, the plan must be approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency so the town may continue to receive pre- and post-disaster mitigation funds.
For more information about the Hazard Mitigation Plan and updating process, contact Chief Christopher Coleman at 508-699-0140 x5620 or ccoleman@nattleboro.com.
