North Attleboro Fire Receives Grants to Upgrade Department’s Equipment

Chief Christopher Coleman is pleased to announce that the North Attleboro Fire Department has been awarded two grants to improve and update department equipment.

The North Attleboro Fire Department received a $8,500 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and a $12,198.15 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Department of Fire Services.

Funds from the Emergency Management Performance Grant will be used to purchase cold water immersion suits to update and replace the department’s older models, while funds from the Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant will be used to purchase firefighting personal protective equipment.

“Grant awards are vital to our department’s operations as they help supplement and fund critical purchases we need to improve some of our aging equipment,” Chief Coleman said. “We thank MEMA, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Department of Fire Services for their continuous support of our department and allocating the necessary funds we need to enhance our services further.”
