The North Attleborough Veterans’ Services Department is pleased to share that Wood for Good, a local nonprofit woodworking group, has donated handcrafted flag display cases to the department for veterans’ families in the community.
After connecting with Veterans Agent Scott Smith, Wood for Good began donating custom-built flag display cases to the department to be distributed to families throughout North Attleborough and surrounding communities. Wood for Good has produced and donated over 100 cases, with more than half donated to the Veterans Services Office. The cases provide a dignified way for families to display and preserve the American flags presented in honor of their loved ones’ service.
“This partnership has been an incredible way to recognize the sacrifices of our veterans and their families,” said Veterans Agent Smith. “Wood for Good’s craftsmanship and generosity ensure these families’ flags receive the respect they deserve.”
Dan Bullock, whose father served and son currently serves in the Marines, formed Wood for Good with local volunteers, including Hank Boschen, Paul Pasqual, Mark Longchamps, Jean Bullock and Kristyn Dillon. The group meets weekly to create items for charitable causes, such as the flag display cases, and their work has already made a significant impact. Wood for Good purchases all materials to build the cases, and the glass for the flag display cases is generously donated by Bristol Glass in Attleboro, Mass.
“Being able to use our skills to give back is a privilege,” Dan Bullock said. “Through our partnership with the Town’s Veterans Services, we’re proud to honor those who served and strengthen our community simultaneously.”
Having recently received its 501(c)(3) Non-Profit status, Wood for Good will host a Launch Party and Fundraiser on Sunday, November 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Angle Tree Brewery. The event will feature silent auction and raffle items along with live music from Route 6 featuring Virna Brown.
