Fire Prevention Week Oct. 6-12
The North Attleborough Fire Department would like to invite community members to attend its upcoming open house during Fire Prevention Week.
WHEN:
Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 5-8 p.m.
WHERE:
North Attleboro Fire Headquarters, 50 Elm St.
Event parking will be available in the Tower Square parking lot, 500 East Washington St.
WHAT:
In celebration of Fire Prevention Week (Oct.6-12), the North Attleboro Fire Department will host an open house as part of its efforts to support this year's campaign: “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!”
There will be touch-a-truck and a water-flowing station where attendees will be assisted by firefighters in using fire hoses to spray a fake house. A smoke trailer will also be present, and attendees will be able to enter and navigate their way out on their hands and knees.
Inside the headquarters, there will be food, coloring materials and safety handouts available.
In addition to the family activities, station tours will be conducted every 15 minutes. Community members will also have the opportunity to take photos with Sparky the Fire Dog.
About Fire Prevention Week:
Fire Prevention Week is organized by the National Fire Protection Association with the goal of educating the public about simple but important ways they can keep themselves and those they live with safe.
