[ARCHIVED] Team Rubicon Provides Vital Assistance to North Attleboro Residents

We have some important news to share regarding assistance for those affected by the unforeseen circumstances from the deluge of rain and flooding. The Town of North Attleboro has partnered with Team Rubicon, a dedicated veteran-led humanitarian organization known for their disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Team Rubicon has a remarkable track record of deploying thousands of volunteers to support communities in the aftermath of disasters and crises. Considering the unexpected challenges our Town has faced, they have generously stepped in to aid those most vulnerable among us.

Team Rubicon's services are being provided free of charge to our residents. This means that if you or someone you know has been impacted by the flooding, you can rely on Team Rubicon for assistance without any cost.

Team Rubicon operates by initiating contact with residents who have indicated a need for their assistance, evaluating each case individually to prioritize those in urgent need. Upon identification of a potential project, the following steps are undertaken:

1.    Initial Outreach: Team Rubicon's first step involves reaching out to residents who have expressed their need for assistance.

2.    Property Assessment: After initial contact, Team Rubicon sends a team to visit the property in question. Their primary objective during this visit is to comprehensively assess the extent of damage to the basement. This assessment is crucial to determine if the conditions meet the necessary criteria for potential demolition or item removal.

3.    Eligibility Determination: Once the property assessment is completed, Team Rubicon's experts evaluate the findings to determine if the conditions warrant the removal of items and demolition. This decision is made based on specific criteria and safety considerations.

4.    Communication and Work Commencement: If it is determined that the damage meets the requirements for item removal and demolition, Team Rubicon promptly communicates their findings and plans with the resident. Following approval and agreement, the work begins.

5.    Item Removal and Demolition: The team proceeds with the removal of all relevant items from the damaged basement. These items are carefully relocated and placed outside the property for further disposition.

6.    Homeowner Responsibility: It is important to note that, after the removal process, it becomes the homeowner's responsibility to manage the disposal of the items. Team Rubicon's primary focus is on the safe removal and demolition of items, leaving the final cleanup and disposal in the hands of the resident.
