Health Benefits

The Town of North Attleborough offers the following health insurance plans. All plans are administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Employees pay between 25% of the monthly premium (depending on choice of plan) through bi-weekly payroll deductions.

  • Network Blue New England Value (HMO BLUE) & Deductible Plan
  • Blue Care Elect Enhanced Value (PPO) & Deductible Plan

Dental Plan

Administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

Vision Plan

Administered by EyeMed

Basic Life Insurance

Employees may purchase $5,000 of basic life insurance and $5,000 of accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage and will pay 75% of the premium. The employee’s cost is $0.94 per month.  

Voluntary life Insurance Plans

All plans are administered by Life Plus Insurance Agency, Inc.

  • Term Life And AD&D (must have Basic Life to sign up)
    • This option is only available to new employees upon hire.
  • Long Term Disability
  • Life Option Plus (Permanent Life)
  • Critical Illness Plus
  • Accident Option Plus

Flexible Spending Account

Employees have the ability to set up benefit deductions on a pre-tax basis. This allows deductions to be “free” of taxes. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can also be established on a pre-tax basis which allows employees to set aside money for:

  • Dental and Vision care 
  • Medical deductibles 
  • Childcare expenses 
  • Long term care expenses

Teacher Retirement Plan

As a member of the Massachusetts Teachers System employees are eligible for retirement benefits through the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement Board (MTRB). This includes retirement allowance, health and life insurance.

Town Retirement Plan

As a member of the Massachusetts Public Employment System employees are eligible for retirement benefits through Massachusetts General Law-Chapter 32, which establishes benefits, contribution requirements, and an accounting and funds structure for all systems. Deferred Compensation Plans

Employees may supplement retirement by enrolling in any of the annuity plans (403b and 457 Plans) offered through the North Attleborough Public Schools and Town Government. All employees may access 457 accounts, additionally school department employees may enroll in 403b accounts. Enrollment in these plans must be done through a financial investment agent.
