Narcan Safety and Training
Free Narcan Training in North Attleborough
Community members are invited to take part in free Narcan training to learn how to administer this life-saving medication in the event of an opioid-related overdose.
These trainings are organized by the North Attleborough Opioid Task Force and hosted by the SAFE Coalition. Sessions will be held over the next few months, beginning in September, at Richards Memorial Library, 118 North Washington St.

- Saturday, February 7, 2026: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
- Saturday, March 7, 2026: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
During each session, participants will:
Learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose
Receive step-by-step guidance on administering Narcan
Practice administering the medication using a trainer device
Receive two 4 mg doses of Narcan to take home
Trainings are open to the public and suitable for all ages. Residents are encouraged to drop in at any time during the scheduled hour—trainings will be conducted every 20 minutes.
Funded by Opioid Settlement Resources
These sessions are funded through North Attleborough’s Opioid Settlement Funds. As of February 2025, the Town has received $735,000 in opioid abatement funds. Over the next 14 years, North Attleborough is expected to receive $1,716,791.24, with an average annual distribution of $122,627. These funds can be used to support prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services.
Free Narcan Available at the Health Department
In addition to training sessions, free Narcan is available through the North Attleborough Health Department in partnership with the Northern Bristol County Public Health Alliance.
To pick up free Narcan, visit the Health Department at Town Hall during regular business hours.
⚠️ Important: An overdose requires immediate medical attention. Always call 911 after administering Narcan.

About the North Attleborough Opioid Task Force
The North Attleborough Opioid Task Force oversees the Town’s use of opioid settlement funds. Members include the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Police Chief, Fire Chief, School Department representatives, Board of Health members, and other key stakeholders.
Mission: To identify and fund community programs that address opioid use disorder prevention, treatment, and harm reduction using settlement resources.
