[ARCHIVED] Tyler Simonds Confirmed as North Attleborough’s New Conservation Administrator

Town Manager Michael Borg is pleased to announce that Tyler Simonds has been confirmed by the Town Council Monday night as North Attleborough’s new Conservation Administrator. 

During the Town Council Meeting on Monday, Feb. 12, Simonds was confirmed as North Attleborough’s new Conservation Administrator. He began his new position on Monday, Feb. 5. 

“We are pleased to welcome Tyler to the Town of North Attleborough as our new Conservation Administrator,” Town Manager Borg said. “He brings a wide range of experiences and knowledge that will be valuable to this role within our community.” 

Simonds has previous municipal experience as a Land Use Planner for the Town of Bristol, New Hampshire. In this role, he reviewed various applications, such as subdivision proposals and zoning requests, and improved government documents for the public. He also worked with multiple stakeholders to finalize site plans and further economic development goals, master planning, transportation improvements, and more. 

He has also worked as a consultant for the Mystic River Watershed Association and as a Horticulturist at the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy. While working for the watershed association, he was responsible for assessing site conditions and coordinating site improvements, including the provision of water. As a Horticulturist, he led organic park management efforts, implemented a pilot project with iNaturalist, and addressed irrigation issues to restore system functionality. 

Simonds received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, a conservation stewardship certificate from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from Plymouth State University.
