[ARCHIVED] Solid Waste Department Partners with Great American Rain Barrel to Offer Discounted Rain Barrels

The Solid Waste Department has once again partnered with the Great American Rain Barrel Company to offer residents the opportunity to purchase rain barrels and rain barrel accessories at a discounted rate through its 2024 Rain Barrel Program.

The Solid Waste Department has 4 green barrels ($61.00/each), 7 gray barrels ($61.00/each), 5 unpainted black barrels ($56.00/each), 8 terra cotta barrels ($52.00/each), 3 brown barrels ($61.00/each), 3 large diverters ($35.00/each), 8 small diverters ($30.00/each) and 5 bags of stones ($24.00/bag) available for residents to purchase. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Barrel purchases include:

  • Lid
  • Plastic spigot threaded for hose connection
  • Two Overflow fittings
  • Drain plug
  • Insect screen to keep water clear of debris
  • Port to link barrels (use short piece of garden hose flex tube .75″ ID  -not included)
  • Choice of spigot port: 4 or 14 inches from ground
  • 1-year limited warranty on barrel and parts

Rain diverters, river stones and overflow hoses/tubes are not included in barrel purchases.

Residents can purchase and pick up the barrels and accessories at the Solid Waste Department Office, 777 Mt. Hope Street, with cash or check during normal business hours. Business hours include Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.  If you cannot pick up the barrel at time of purchase, other arrangement can made with the department.
