[ARCHIVED] Town to Address Runoff at Raymond Beaupre Field Affecting Janice Lane Properties

As part of Phase 1, which began this week, a swale with a perforated pipe and stones will be installed to redirect water flow from 71 Janice Lane to an existing retention area on school property.

In Phase 2, a stone swale will be extended along the rear of the school property along the bleachers to catch runoff.  This will connect to the existing drainage outlet from the school and a new detention area will be constructed to slow the flow of water during rain events.  This drainage will then tie into the existing stormwater drainage system on Janice Lane. This phase will assist with capturing sheet flow and pushing it into the stormwater system.

Concurrently, stormwater back up behind the Lyman St. properties will be investigated and a course of action will be developed as part of Phase 3.

Phase 4 will be considered pending the results of the High School’s MSBA project, including whether to maintain the retention pond that exists near the school’s baseball fields and divert flow to that location.
