The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, which will remain in effect until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 17. Heat index values are expected to reach up to 100 degrees. Please take precautions, such as drinking fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, avoiding direct sunlight, and checking on relatives and neighbors.
Residents are encouraged to stop by the World War II Memorial Pool, 43 S Washington St., to escape the heat! The pool is open Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m.
During your first visit, residents will be asked to fill out a one-page sheet. Staff will also ask for a photo ID and a current utility or tax bill for proof of residency. After the first visit, please check in with your last name and the number of people.
