The North Attleboro Emergency Management Team would like to inform community members that there are numerous road closures and power outages throughout town due to the ongoing storm.
At this time, the following roads are closed due to downed trees and wires:
- Reservoir Street in the area of Jefferson Street
- Cushman Road from Norborough Drive to Mendon Road
- Towne Street near John Dietsch Boulevard
As a reminder, do not enter flooded roadways or drive near downed wires or trees. Turn around and find an alternate route.
The Southwest side of town near Cumberland Avenue is currently experiencing power outages as well. The North Attleboro Electric Department is working to restore power; however, repairs will be halted for the time being due to the high winds. Work will resume once it's safe to do so. For more updates about power outages and restoration efforts, follow along on Facebook.
The North Attleborough Fire Department has also rescued a small sailboat that broke loose on Whiting's Pond and got lodged in the dam this morning. The small boat has since been removed and is on the shore of Whiting Street.
