The ceremony will begin with remarks from Veterans Agent Stephen Travers followed by remarks from Friends of North Attleboro Monuments, Town Manager Michael Borg and more. Ceremony attendees will also have the opportunity to be shuttled over to the Barrows Veterans Memorial Park to view the monument.
The Global War on Terrorism Monument was spearheaded by Friends Of North Attleboro Monuments beginning in 2022. The monument serves as a lasting tribute to the courage and sacrifice of all who have served in the nation’s longest ongoing conflict to protect our country while inspiring all Americans to stand united behind those who continue to serve.
Thanks to generous donations from community members and local businesses, the monument was fabricated by West Memorials in Memphis, Tennessee. Once constructed, the monument was installed at Barrows Veterans Memorial Park, 76 South Washington St., where it will remain alongside monuments honoring veterans who served in the Korean conflict, Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield.
